The Mona Calvert home at Milford
Meadows, sponsored partially by the Wee Kirk Presbyterian Church of Linville,
was dedicated on Saturday afternoon, June 16th. Mona and Teira are
happily settled into their new home. A Bible and keys to the home were
presented in the dedication ceremony and members of the Wee Kirk
congregation assisted in the service. Mona's green thumb is
already evident around the new home with numerous flowering plants
adorning the front of the house and the entrance way.
The
Sam and Darlene Oaks home is under roof with siding nearly complete.
Drywall finishing is underway and painting and final trim out will begin
in late September or early October. Thanks to Dan Hemp and crew with Pinnacle
Construction (pictured at left) for framing the house over a two
day period in May. Care-A-Vanners and mission groups from Potomac
Presbyterian Church, St Andrews Episcopal School in
Maryland, Ohio State University, and Front Royal Presbyterian Church (click the link for
additional pictures and information from Front Royal Pres)
www.frpcmissiontrip07.blogspot.com in Virginia have helped to get the new house to
its present level of completion. Our dedicated S.Q.U.A.T. (Senior
Quality Assurance Team) group from Banner Elk Presbyterian Church and
elsewhere continues to work one or two days each week.
Volunteer groups are needed to sign up
for Saturdays throughout the building period on the Oaks house. For a
great Christian service experience, call the office to schedule your
Sunday school class or church group to work a Saturday during September
or October.
